Bullseye Quilts

This term some of the members of The Craft Group are making Bulls Eye Quilts as a 'sharing' group project. I LOVE this pattern. It is quick and easy and you don't have to be exact with the circles. 
When you wash the quilt, all the circular edges form lovely soft frayed edges.
I found this lovely one in this etsy shop. Here different whites were used as backgrounds and just blue, red and yellow are used in the design. I just had to include this photo because of the baby cheeks!


When you do this quilt as a group project, everyone makes squares with full circles on them. Then everyone swaps! If you put in 4 squares, you take 4 from other people, if you give in 20, you get 20. It depends how big you want your end quilt to be.
You can make a little project like this one. These were some left over squares from a group bullseye challenge I was involved in and Anne made this bag.


Or you can make a big quilt, like Bev did! Traditionally you cut each circle in quarters but here, Bev just cut them in half for a different effect.


I'll show you my bullseye quilts when I take some photos of them this week. We have enrolment morning tomorrow, so that will be nice to see people again.

    I love the adorable baby and quilt.
    Think I'll try that one too. I'm using up scraps from My MoM's
    stash....historical & hysterical. Will give to one of her
    grandkids.

These cute little Christmas stockings were made by Mandy. There was no real pattern to follow so we worked it out easily enough by sharing crochet know how and made little stocking decorations until they were everywhere. Wil and Bev G made a heap! Here are some pictures and a pattern! A pentagon granny square folded in half to make a little stocking. Make them in whatever colour you like! Add some sparkle :) or a bell on the toe! Lantern making... a craft for kids

The school holidays are nearly over. Some kids have one more week. Why not get creative and make some pretty lanterns to hang in your bedroom? (Caitlin and Ryan... if you make one and take a photo, I'll put it on the blog!) Mitred Granny Squares by Janice

A project a day! I have so many photos of lovely things which have not yet appeared here on the blog. So, I am featuring a new craft item every day for 2 weeks, all made by ladies at The Craft Group. To continue… Project 5: Mitred Granny Squares by Janice Crocheted Granny Squares are in again and, as with all come-backs, there are clever variations. These mitred* squares are eye catching and can look stunning depending on the colours used. Janice made this green one which has a lovely 3D effect made by her use of various tones of graduating greens. It looks stunning in a whole finished rug. (*also spelt 'Mitered', depending on where you live).  Janice is then working on some other squares using bright coloured stripes, giving the finished product a completely different look.
